東京医科歯科大は３０日、流行する新型コロナウイルスのデルタ株について、英国由来のアルファ株に類似した変異を持つ新たなタイプを国内で初めて確認したと発表した。世界では８例の報告があるが、感染力の強さなどは不明という。 同大によると、新たなデルタ株は今月、同大付属病院の患者から検出された。デルタ株に特徴的な「Ｌ４５２Ｒ」変異に加え、アルファ株に特徴的な「Ｎ５０１Ｙ」に類似した「Ｎ５０１Ｓ」変異があった。患者に海外渡航歴はなく、市中感染だったという。同大は、この変異は国内で起きた可能性が極めて高いとみている。 （2021年8月30日 時事メディカル）

形成外科（教授） 川上 重彦 １．熱傷の重傷度分類 熱傷とは、熱によって皮膚が損傷された状態をいいます。一般的には火傷とかヤケドなどとも呼称されています。熱傷の原因としては、熱湯をかぶった、テンプラ油がはねた、火事で火焔を浴びた、など様々なものがあり、日常生活の中で注意しなくてはいけない外傷（怪我）といえます。 熱傷の程度は大きく3つに分類されています。Ⅰ度熱傷とは皮膚表面の損傷です。皮膚は赤くなりますが、生傷にはならないため、治療の対象にはなりません。Ⅱ度熱傷とは皮膚の中層までの損傷で水疱（水ぶくれ）が出来るのが特徴です。生傷になるため、傷が自然に治癒するには7日～14日程度かかります。治癒に10日以上かかりますと傷跡（瘢痕）が残ることもあります。Ⅲ度熱傷とは皮膚の下層、さらには皮下組織に及ぶ損傷です。皮膚は灰白色から黒色を呈します。傷の大きさにもよりますが、自然に治癒するまでには1ヵ月

国立感染症研究所の発表によると、20歳未満の新型コロナウイルスによる死亡者数は2022年1～8月の間で41例確認されました。年齢の内訳は、0歳が8例、1～4歳が10例、5～11歳が17例、12～19歳が5例、年齢不明が1例です。性別の内訳は、男児が23例、女児が18例です。オミクロン株が流行する前の昨年末時点では、20歳未満の子どもの死亡例は3例だったため、オミクロン株流行に伴い子どもの死亡例も急増したことが分かります。 今回死亡が確認された41例のうち、内因性死亡（外傷などのない疾病による死亡）が明らかな29例の調査がおこなわれました。調査によると、医療機関到着時の症状として発熱（79％）、吐き気や嘔吐（52％）、意識障害（45％）などがみられました。また、発症日の確認がとれた26例のうち、発症から死亡までの日数が1週間未満だった者の割合は73％と高く、特に発症後1週間以内は症状の経過観
