James B. Keller[1] (born 1958/1959)[2] is an American microprocessor engineer best known for his work at AMD and Apple. He was the lead architect of the AMD K8 microarchitecture[3][4][5] (including the original Athlon 64)[3][6][7] and was involved in designing the Athlon (K7)[5] and Apple A4/A5 processors.[3][8][9][10] He was also the coauthor of the specifications for the x86-64 instruction set[8

DECのAlphaプロセッサ、AMDのK7、K8、AppleのA4/A5の開発に携わり、近年はAMDのRyzenを成功させ たCPU設計者のJim Keller氏がIntelに入社した（Intelの発表）。氏はAMD退社後に電気自動車メーカーであるTesla Motorsに入社していた。 IntelはRadeonの首席設計者であったRaja Koduri氏も引き抜いており、元AMDの著名アーキテクトが続いて入社している。Jim Keller氏が将来のCoreプロセッサを担当するのか、それともTelsaの経験を生かして車載関連やAI関連を担当するのかはわからないが、今後、Intelから出るプロセッサなりSoCには期待ができるかもしれない。
