Instructions¶ Instructions are encoded by opcodes. Each opcode is represented by a single byte, and is followed by the instruction’s immediate arguments, where present. The only exception are structured control instructions, which consist of several opcodes bracketing their nested instruction sequences. Note Gaps in the byte code ranges for encoding instructions are reserved for future extensions.

WebAssembly Garbage Collection (WasmGC) now enabled by default in Chrome Published on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 There are two types of programming languages: garbage-collected programming languages and programming languages that require manual memory management. Examples of the former, among many more, are Kotlin, PHP, or Java. Examples of the latter are C, C++, or Rust. As a general rule, higher-

Today we are incredibly excited to announce WinterJS (wasmer/winterjs package). WinterJS is a JavaScript Service Workers server written in Rust, that uses the SpiderMonkey engine t
The State of WebAssembly 2023 survey has closed, the results are in … and they are fascinating! If you want the TL;DR; here are the highlights: Rust and JavaScript usage is continuing to increase, but some more notable changes are happening a little further down - with both Swift and Zig seeing a significant increase in adoption. When it comes to which languages developers ‘desire’, with Zig, Kotl
Opens in a new windowOpens an external siteOpens an external site in a new window We’ve recently open sourced a project called Ruvy! Ruvy is a toolchain that takes Ruby code as input and creates a WebAssembly module that will execute that Ruby code. There are other options for creating Wasm modules from Ruby code. The most common one is ruby.wasm. Ruvy is built on top of ruby.wasm to provide some
Johan Brandhorst-Satzkorn, Julien Fabre, Damian Gryski, Evan Phoenix, and Achille Roussel 13 September 2023 Go 1.21 adds a new port targeting the WASI preview 1 syscall API through the new GOOS value wasip1. This port builds on the existing WebAssembly port introduced in Go 1.11. What is WebAssembly? WebAssembly (Wasm) is a binary instruction format originally designed for the web. It represents a
“In e-commerce, proximity to users is vital. Turso lets us minimize round trip network latency for our global userbase and it makes a huge difference.“ “Turso enables us to efficiently scale Astro Studio’s database per tenant architecture to as many users as we’ll ever need, on demand. It’s a game changer.“

Wasm core dumps and debugging Rust in Cloudflare Workers08/14/2023 A clear sign of maturing for any new programming language or environment is how easy and efficient debugging them is. Programming, like any other complex task, involves various challenges and potential pitfalls. Logic errors, off-by-ones, null pointer dereferences, and memory leaks are some examples of things that can make software
WebAssembly is a way to safely run code compiled in other languages. Runtimes execute WebAssembly Modules (Wasm), which are most often binaries with a .wasm extension. wazero is the only zero dependency WebAssembly runtime written in Go. Get Started #Get the wazero CLI and run any Wasm binary
