PloneはZopeをベースとしたOSSのサーバサイドCMSツール。CMFと呼ばれるZopeのフレームワークを採用し、高度なコンテンツ管理が可能だ。 「Plone」（プローン）を語る上で欠かせないのは「Zope」との関係だ。Zopeには、高度なコンテンツ管理システム構築のためのフレームワーク「CMF」（Content Management Framework）がある。 CMFとは、メンバーログイン型のポータルコミュニティサイトの枠組みとツールキットを提供するものであり、コンテンツとスキンの分離、ワークフローサポートなどの機能を提供する。このZope CMFを実装したコンテンツ管理システム（CMS）のひとつが「Plone」だ。 Ploneは高価な商用CMSに匹敵する機能を持つと言われ、ハワイ州政府、NASA、コンチネンタル航空、Computer Associates、OSDL、さらに日本でも

こんな Plone のサイトはさりげなくていい (2006/01/08) Zope こんな Plone のサイトはさりげなくていい Plone のサイトも Snow Leopard Trust や Audubon Society of Portland 、 Farming & the Environment あるいは、WomenandEnvironment みたいな感じにまで仕上げると技術に振り回されていない感じでよいなぁと思う。ただ、英語のサイトで「ホーム」とか「もっと...」とか表示されているのを見ると笑える。Plone を使った場合には、日本語だけでなく、ブラウザ側で英語等の設定でもサイトを見る習慣をつけた方がよさそう。 Plone 本 J.Cameron Cooper の "Building Websites with Plone" に一通り目を通した。この本は開発者におすすめ。"
