16 Jun 2008 Physics Based Games I've always been fascinated by physics-based gameplay. Even going back to the primeval days of classic arcade gaming, I found vector-based games, with their vastly simplified 2D approximations of physics and motion, more compelling than their raster brethren. I'm thinking of games like Asteroids, Battlezone, and Lunar Lander. Accurately simulating the physics of the
I'm please to announce the 1.0 Release of Physaxe : a haXe 2D Rigid Body Physics Engine heavily optimized for Flash Player 9. A demo is always better than words, so you can play the following SWF, use 1-8 keys to change the demo and click to fire a block : (if you want to check the real CPU spent by physaxe, you can press the 'D' key to disable drawing, which takes most of the CPU) See the Physaxe
The classic physics experiment involving sound, a tube of propane and fire. Created for Flash Forward 2006, but useful in any case where you are not allowed to have fire. I push through the tube 449 Hz then higher frequencies, then some jazz and then some rock. This is real life sound visualization.
