Global Innovation Tournament (GIT)は、Stanford大学工学部のStanford Technology Ventures Programが主催するビジネスプランコンテストで、今年は、31カ国から約1000件のエントリーがありました。 日本では、Global Entrepreneurship Weekのホストである（財）本田財団と（特）アントレプレナーシップ開発センターとが共催団体として協力し、日本代表を審査・授賞式をオーガナイズしました。 今年の課題は「MAKE SAVING MONEY FUN!」で、11月4日にWeb上に発表され、参加者はチームを組んで課題解決の提案を3分プレゼンでまとめ、締め切りの11月13日までに日本の審査対象として提出を終えたのは、10チーム12のプレゼンテーションでした。審査の結果、日本の代表として3チーム4作品をエントリーし

スタンフォード大学が、工学に関する基礎的な授業を無償でオンライン公開する「Stanford Engineering Everywhere（SEE）」という試みを始めました。SEEは、講義のビデオや講義内容のテキスト等のさまざまな資料やテストなどをオンラインで提供するもので、現在コンピュータサイエンスと人工知能、線形システムの最適化という3分野、合計10の講義が公開されています。 動画はYouTubeやiTunesによるビデオポッドキャスト、BitTorrentなどで公開されていて、講師が話した全文をテキスト化したものもダウンロード可能となっています。公開されている資料や動画は、すべてCreative CommonsのAttribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported Licenseで公開されており、非営利目的で原著作者のクレジットを表示する
